We aim to showcase the best and most inspirational talent and success stories from ethnic minority backgrounds to inspire and celebrate diversity. Therefore we expect all of our staff and students to CARE (Copley Against Racism and Extremism) and ensure everyone is not just non-racist but anti-racist to create a fairer school and wider community for all.

As an inclusive and diverse academy we expect our students to take responsibility for any racial discrimination through CARE, which you can read below:

Each month we will have a GREAT BAME icon, so please visit this section of the website on a regular basis for these and further updates and news. There’s a big difference between being not-racist and being anti-racist. Do you know what it is?

Our Anti-Racist approach at Copley Academy extends to all our staff as well as our students and we encourage everyone to think about racism in the workplace.

Icon of March 2022-  Harriet Tubman

Harriet Tubman was an American abolitionist and political activist. Born into slavery, Tubman escaped and subsequently made some 13 missions to rescue approximately 70 enslaved people, including family and friends, using the network of antislavery activists and safe houses known as the Underground Railroad
