I am writing to inform you of the arrangements for the upcoming Year 8 and Year 10 Progress Day, which will take place on Friday 23 January. School be closed to all students except Year 8 and Year 10.
On this day, students will arrange a 10-minute appointment with their form tutor between 11:00am and 2:50pm. Appointments will be made during form time in the week commencing Monday 12 January. Please discuss with your child in advance which time slot would be most convenient for you, so they are able to book an appropriate appointment.
For Year 8 students, Progress Day provides an opportunity to reflect on the previous term, including attitude to learning, progress in lessons, and homework. Students will use these discussions to set targets to maintain their progress or address any barriers to learning.
For Year 10 students, discussions will focus on their target grades for the first time, the progress they have made towards these targets, and the next steps required to ensure they achieve their full potential over the remainder of the academic year.
Progress Days are an important opportunity for students to reflect on their learning, set clear goals moving forward, and celebrate their achievements to date.
We look forward to welcoming you into the Academy. Should you have any questions, please contact your child’s form tutor.
