Safeguarding and Welfare Officer
Salary: GAET Band 9, SCP 23 to 26 (£29,529 to £32,068)
Start Date: September 2024
We are looking for an experienced and passionate Safeguarding and Welfare Officer to join our team. Candidates should be safeguarding professional with experience in working with young people, their families and colleagues to ensure students achieve the best outcomes.

Curriculum Leader for Performing Arts (Drama Specialist)
Salary: MPS/UPS (£30,000 to £46,525) + TLR 2D (£4,215)

We are looking to appoint an exceptional candidate to lead our Performing Arts department through the next exciting phase of our development.
Working closely with colleagues in the department and across the academy, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead curriculum planning, teaching and learning at KS3 and KS4, embedding challenge for all and ensuring all students make exceptional progress.

We are looking to appoint an exceptional Teacher of Drama to join our forward-thinking Performing Arts department on a permanent basis.
The successful applicant will be inspiring and have the ability to achieve excellent results. They must demonstrate passion for the subject and be able to motivate students. There will be an expectation to contribute to the planning and delivery of our curriculum at key stage 3 and key stage 4.

An opportunity has arisen for an outstanding leader to develop a forward looking department at Copley Academy. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with the Associate Assistant Principal (Maths & Numeracy) to lead and develop a team of experienced colleagues. The area of specific responsibility will be to improve the standard of teaching, learning, assessment and curriculum in the Maths Department through effective leadership, management, coaching and training. There will also be the opportunity to carry out outreach work across the trust including the training and development of new teachers.

Catering Assistants and Cleaners
Hourly Rate: £12.00 per hour
Working Hours: Various

We are seeking to appoint catering assistants to support the delivery of our catering service to students, and cleaners to be part of our facilities team. In the documents below is the job description for both roles.

Contracts available:
- Catering Assistant (10 hours) Monday to Friday, 12:30 to 14:30 – term time only plus 5 INSET days
- Cleaner (10 hours) Monday to Friday, 15:00 to 17:00 or 16:00 to 18:00 – term time only plus 10 days in school holidays
Exams Invigilators
Hourly Rate: £12.17 per hour (inclusive of holiday allowance)
Working Hours: Casual Contract – Exams and Mock Exam Periods
Start Date: ASAP
We are seeking to appoint Exams Invigilators for the examinations and assessments that take place throughout the academic year. The ideal candidates will be well organised, excellent communicators, have experience of supervising children and be both reliable and flexible. This is a fast-paced role in a busy Academy so excellent communication skills and a “can do” attitude is essential. Whilst experience is preferred, full training will be provided for the successful candidates.

Application Process
Here are the stages you can expect from our recruitment process.
We accept applications on either the Great Academies Education Trust application form (cleaning, catering and exam invigilator roles only) or via the online TES portal (Times Educational Supplement).
We cannot accept CVs due to our child safeguarding responsibilities. The additional questions asked on the application forms ensure we fulfil those responsibilities.
Top tip: In the section of the application form titled ‘Skills, knowledge and experience’ we want you to tell us how your skills, knowledge and experience closely match the Job Description and Person Specification of the role you’re applying for. It’s tempting to tell us all about your current job and everything you’ve done previously too; but we’re really interested to hear how you meet the criteria for our job – the one you’re applying for.
Your application will be reviewed against the criteria outlined in the Person Specification by a Great Academies Education Trust selection panel; and applicants who best match the criteria will be shortlisted for interview.
Following the selection panel’s shortlisting process, you will receive notification on the outcome of your application.
If you’re shortlisted you’ll be invited to attend an interview with a Great Academies Education Trust selection panel. This may include undertaking any selection tests – for example giving a presentation .
Following the interview you will receive notification on the outcome of your interview and receive feedback on your interview.
If you have been successful, you will receive an email with your conditional offer of employment. Once this is accepted, you can agree your start date.
We’ll carry out the pre-employment screening (including references and other checks, such as DBS, if applicable). Once the checks have been completed, we will issue your contract and onboarding paperwork. These should be returned before your start date .
A formal induction takes place each term; and you will receive full support through your induction and the start of your Great Academies Education Trust journey .
